The online reader offers a variety of viewing options and tools to engage readers with the chapters.
Search inside eBook
Use the search bar above the table of contents to search within the full text of the eBook and see the chapter-level results.
Change the font size
To increase the size of the text, use the accessibility menu options available in the top left navigation (under the icon with the vertical dots). Choose "Accessibility Options" and select the size of the text that you prefer.

Highlight & Note
NOTE: You must be logged in to create highlights and notes. If you are not able to see "Highlights & notes" tool after you have signed in, you may need to turn off your ad blocker software.
•To highlight text, draw your cursor over the text you wish to highlight. The Highlight & Note option will appear on the screen.
•Select Highlight & Note.
•Add a note and choose your preferred highlight color.
To view all the Highlights & Notes you have taken within a book, choose the Highlights & Notes button on the online reader toolbar in the bottom right of the page.
Your Highlights & Notes can be organized and exported from your Bookshelf. Log in to view your Bookshelf.
We provide automated citation options in Web (metadata only), Chicago, and MLA formats. The citations provide links to the character level text highlighted in the chapter, so that citations can be accurately represented in bibliographies and other references.
•To cite text, draw your cursor over the text you wish to cite. The Cite option will appear on the screen.
•Select Cite this.
•Choose the format for the citation you would like to create.
•Select citation text and copy to your preferred document format.
Chapters can be cited by selecting the Cite button from the online reader toolbar in the bottom right of the page.
To share a link to the chapter, select the Share button from the online reader toolbar in the bottom right of the page. Copy the link and paste it into your preferred document, or choose from other automated functions, like sharing via email.
Save to Bookshelf
For easy access back to the chapter, choose the Save to Bookshelf option from the online reader toolbar. All books, chapters, and coursepacks can be reviewed by logging in and selecting the Bookshelf link in the top navigation bar.
Add to Coursepack (Verified Instructors Only)
•To add to an existing coursepack:
•Select Choose an existing coursepack from the menu window.
•Find the Coursepack to which you would like to add the chapter.
•Save the chapter to the Coursepack.
To start a new coursepack:
•Select Create new coursepack from the menu window.
•Provide the Coursepack title and other relevant information as indicated.
•Save the Coursepack.
•Save the chapter you are reading to the Coursepack.
You can add additional chapters to this coursepack from other books. Just follow the instructions above for adding chapters to an existing coursepack.
To manage and publish your Coursepack, go to your Profile menu under Bookshelf and choose My coursepacks.
